    Important AUSD News...

Due to the sharp increase in local COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, AUSD will be opening in distance learning this fall.

Superintendent Scuderi made this recommendation to the Board of Education at its July 17 public meeting. That day, Governor Newsom also announced that only schools in counties that have been off the state's monitoring list for 14 days can open in person. Alameda County is currently on that list.

The Board of Education formalized this opening decision at a special meeting on July 22.
